The Princess Royal Trust provides this service at a Centre on Gas Brae, Blairgowrie, through a service level agreement with Perth and Kinross Council. There are two staff and volunteers that provide the service. The Centre is open four days per week and can take a maximum of 13 people each day but in effect runs with about 10. Lunch is provided from Blairgowrie Community Hospital. The Centre is closed Thursdays. Tuesday is specifically for dementia clients. Activities take place at the Centre including quizzes, cards etc and occasional visits to the theatre etc. The criteria for the service include that carers must provide 30 hours or more care per week to the client. Staff at the Centre do assessments, but there are insufficient numbers of staff to undertake them. The Centre can also provide emergency respite.
